Storm Thorgerson, born in Dartford, Kent, and of Norwegian descent, was a graphic designer and music video director. He went to school with Pink Floyd band members, Roger Waters and Syd Barrett, and is best known for the famous Pink Floyd album art when he worked closely with the band through most of their music career. His design for The Dark Side of the Moon has been called one of the greatest album covers of all time. Thorgerson also created album and other art for bands such as Led Zeppelin, Wishbone Ash, Phish, Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, Al Stewart, Scorpions, UFO, Peter Gabriel, the Alan Parsons Project, Genesis, Yes, Kansas, Dream Theater, Muse, Audioslave, the Mars Volta, The Cranberries, Helloween, Ween, Shpongle and Catherine Wheel.
